                DEPARTMENT OF HOTEL AND CATERING MANAGEMENT                         

 

History

The Hospitality Management program is specifically designed for individuals desiring to enter the hotel and hospitality field and who are aspiring for a management career in this industry. The program offers students an academic education together with vocational core competencies. This carries considerable value and prestige with employers worldwide. It can also benefit people looking to obtain the necessary specialized knowledge when thinking about being an entrepreneur. To develop professionals in all skills of a manager and to execute office works and manage the system of the admin department in the hospitality industry To learn the different types of cuisines and become master of it so as to rule the world of food production with all practical skills This program provides students a unique advantage of working in a wide variety of fields which includes star hotels, cruise line (ship) catering, flight catering services , travel agencies the service sector including banks, hospitals, in event management, facilities management and a plethora of other areas which affords them excellent careers. To become a practically skilled professional in the hospitality industry and to deliver service to humanity in a greater level of service and to attain the maximum profits in the hospitality industry.

Establishment of Department U.G. Degree Department of Hotel and Catering Management was established in the year 2003. DEPARTMENT ACHIEVEMENTS The success in growth and development of the department lies in securing gold medals and university ranks. Faculty Strength

The department has 4 faculties, in which 2 holds more than ten experience and guidance help the students to achieve their goals in academic side as well as in extracurricular activities. The department has arranged industrial training for students in most reputed Luxury property hotels such as Taj, ITC, Benzz park, Rambagh palace, Le royale Meridian and many more star hotels.

To know about the various rooms in a hotel and the ways to present the rooms to a guest.

To know about the types of tourism and the ways to improve it so as to generate revenue to the Industry. Through knowledge on travel agencies helps in a greater way for the tourism management.

To know the role and importance of engineering and maintenance department for the smooth functioning of the hotels.
